There are some key skills to the employees need that helps them to survive in the contemporary workplace i.e. Mastery, Contacts, Entrepreneurship, Love of technology, Marketing and passion for renewal.
Mastery: You need to be good at something, you need to be able to contribute something of value to your employer. You can think yourself what speciality do you have and how you can perform well which other can't.
Contacts: You need to know people, link with peers and others inside and outside the organisation are essential to get things done. You can use social sites like linkidn to expand your professional link, attending seminars, volunteering programs are also useful to expose you to the potential employers.
Entrepreneurship: You must act as you are running your own business, spotting ideas and opportunities and stepping out to embrace them.
Love of Technology: You have to embrace technology, you do not have to be a technician but you must be willing and able to fully use IT effectively and creatively.
Marketing: You need to be able to communicate your success and progress, both yours personally and those of your work group.
Passion for renewal: You need to be continuously learning and changing and updating yourself to best meet future demands.

- Inform higher level of teams needs and accomplishment
- Co-ordiante with other teams and support the rest of the organisation
